“Freedom” Original Poem

Hard to find
impossible to hold,
protected
but not caged
or it dies.

Born in open fields
of many colored wildflowers
under wide spreading skies
where the soldier's wife sighs
and waits 
with her needles.

Someday,
freedom will fly
and bring hope.
